      Applications are invited from Indian nationals for 6 (six) posts of ‘Project Scientists’ in the research programme on Estuarine dynamics of Sundarban and their response to possible climate change under the World Bank assisted ICZM Project, West Bengal with consolidated emoluments of Rs. 20,000/- (Rupees twenty thousand only) per month inclusive of everything. The project period is for four years and the project personnel will be selected based on contract / co-terminus with the project. However, the continuation will be subject to review. Increment of Salary during this period will be completely based on involvement in the project, performance and output.

Essential Qualification : M. Sc / M. Tech in Geology / Geography/ Environmental Science / Environmental Engineering with at least one year experience in physical oceanographic techniques and/or application of remote sensing & GIS for coastal management, handling of different types of GPS including DGPS for benchmark setting etc. Selected candidates need to carry out strenuous field work in extreme climatic conditions along the coastal region.

        The applications must be sent in neatly hand-written or typed out in A-4 size paper. Interested qualified persons may send applications to the above-mentioned address not later than 15 days from the date of advertisement. The envelope containing the application should be marked as ‘Application for the post of Project Scientist for the programme Estuarine dynamics of Sundarban’. Applications received after due date will be summarily rejected. Interim queries will not be entertained.
