Recruitment of Jr.Executive (Finance) & Linesman in WBSEDCL

The West Bengal State Electricity Distribution Company Limited (WBSEDCL), a wholly owned Government of West Bengal Enterprise, engaged in the business of Hydel Generation, Power Distribution throughout the state of West Bengal with an Annual Turnover of around  10,000 crores and Total Employee strength of about 18,000 and Customer base around 98 lakhs, invites applications from Indian Nationals to fill up the following vacant posts.

Madhyamik or equivalent plus Trade Certificate under NCTVT from any Govt. ITI under Director of Industrial Training, Govt. of West Bengal in the trade (2 years’ duration): Wireman or Electrician and Workmen’s Permit in Part-IV.
For Sl. No.-I:
A)    Relaxation in upper age limit of 27 years for professionally Semi Qualified Trainees having passed ICWA intermediate examination be given by equivalent period of training undergone in WBSEDCL.
B)    Preference be given to the applicants/candidates possessing adequate experience and proficiency in similar industry.
OTHER FACILITIES: In addition to Basic Pay and Grade Pay, the post also carries DA, HRA, Medical Allowance, Electricity Allowance, Hill Compensatory Allowance, Project Allowance (depending on the place of posting), LTC / HTC, CPF, Gratuity, benefits for indoor treatment in leading hospitals for Self & Dependents, Leave Encashment, Ex-gratia, Education Allowance for children and other allowances as per the Rules of the Company.
CAREER PROSPECT: The Company offers professional work environment with modern technology & system. The Company is in the process of modernizing and updating its activities with IT enabled services. It offers both time bound and fast track mode of promotion to the employees with higher responsibility depending upon their sincerity, initiative and merit. The selected candidates shall undergo extensive on-the-job and class room training in the Company’s technical institutes during the period of probation. On successful completion of probation, they may be confirmed under the Company. They are required to furnish a bond of    50,000/- at the time of joining the Company and are required to serve the Company for a minimum period of 4 years from the date of joining.
AGE LIMIT: Upper age limit 27 years as on 01.01.2012 with relaxation for SC/ST and OBC (A) / OBC (B) candidates of West Bengal for 5 years and 3 years respectively.

Candidate should ensure that they submit the Fees as per the eligibility mentioned. Candidates should pay the fee by means of a Crossed demand draft/Banker’s Cheque Drawn in favour of “West Bengal State Electricity Distribution Company Ltd.”, Payable at Kolkata only. Money Order / Postal Order or any other mode of payment is not acceptable. Only the SC/ST candidates from the state of West Bengal are exempted from paying any fees.
RESERVATION: Reservation for the post under Sl. No.-1 shall be made for SC / ST / OBC (A) / OBC (B) / Physically Challenged candidates/ Exempted Category / Sports Persons of the State of West Bengal and for the post under Sl. No.-2 reservation shall be made for SC / ST / OBC (A) / OBC (B) / Physically Challenged / Ex-Serviceman / Exempted Category / Sports Persons as per the guidelines issued by the of Govt. of West Bengal time to time. SC / ST / OBC (A) / OBC (B) / Physically Challenged candidates from State other than West Bengal have to apply for unreserved vacancies as general candidates. The vacancy against exempted category shall be filled up from the list of eligible candidates to be received from Directorate of Employment Govt. of WB.
RESERVATION OF SPORTSPERSONS:
Recruitment of Sportspersons against reserved vacancy shall be made only to following sports events:-
1)    Football
2)    Cricket
3)    Athletic
4)    Badminton
5)    Table Tennis
In order to be eligible, the candidate must produce requisite certificates issued by the respective Competent Authorities in the format as applicable in terms of Govt. of West Bengal Notification No. 49-EMP/IM-25/98 dtd. Kolkata, the 1st March, 2011 and as shown below:

The following categories of meritorious Sportspersons shall be given preference in recruitment.    
a)    Those that have represented West Bengal or India in a National or International Competition in sports discipline mentioned above.
b)    Those that have represented a University in an Inter-University Tournament conducted by Inter-University Sports Board in any Sports discipline mentioned above.
c)     Those that have represented State School Teams in National Competition for Schools conducted by all India School Games Federation in any spots discipline mentioned above.

OTHER CONDITIONS: Candidates are liable to be transferred in any Offices/Units/Power Stations throughout West Bengal. Selected candidates will be appointed in the regular Pay Scale, Initially on probation for the period of one year, during which they will have to undergo on the job training to acquaint themselves with working arrangements of the organization and on satisfactory completion of probationary period they will be confirmed in regular post. Decision of the management for absorption under the Company is final and binding. Candidates having adequate knowledge in communicating in Bengali / Nepali language is preferred.
MODE OF SELECTION: Selection will be made on the basis of performance at Written Test and Interview. Candidates called for Written Test / Interview shall not be entitled to reimbursement of travelling expenses. The Written Test & Interview will be held in Kolkata only. The written test will cover the tests for General Knowledge, Current Affairs, Reasoning, General English and Arithmetic, apart from tests of Proficiency in the respective professional subjects which includes both subjective and objective questions.
