                                                       Vacancy Details

   The Centre for Science and Environment, an established research and policy advocacy institution, needs an experienced person to lead its Climate/ Renewable Energy programme which works in the following areas:

•     Research, writing and networking on climate change issues focused on energy efficiency and renewable energy
•  Research and writing on national / international scientific and policy developments on climate / renewable energy.
•     Research and writing to push for better renewable energy policy and practices in the country

Work profile will include:

•     Research on scientific, technology and policy developments
•     Communicating research by writing papers and articles on key issue of climate change mitigation, adaptation, technology transfer and finance
•     Writing and producing regular updates on key renewable energy sectors
•     Reporting and writing on international negotiations and developments
•     Organising meetings and conferences
•     Organising training and running e-courses
•     Maintaining databases and correspondence with national and 
•     international policy makers, scientists, experts and NGOs

Candidates must have:

•     Prior experience in area of energy (efficiency, renewable) / global climate negotiations
•     Basic understanding of key issues in various sectors.
•     Communication skills in English (written and verbal) and an ability to comprehend scientific material and report it with clarity are a must.
•     Background in energy, development politics or climate change policy preferred.

Experience:

We are looking for people with about 10 years of experience in the above mentioned areas. Salary will be commensurate with experience
